Each favor pairs a baby blue terracotta pot with a beautifully illustrated “Baby in Bloom” wildflower seed packet. Inside is the same wildflower seed mix used in our other seed pot favors, giving guests a colorful mix of flowers to grow and enjoy after your celebration.

Please check the size. These are miniature pots, about 1.1 inches — smaller than most people picture when they read “flower pot.” They are sized for a place setting, not for growing a plant on indefinitely. Seeds can be started in the pot and the seedlings moved out to the garden or a larger container as they grow.

Real clay, not plastic. These are genuine terracotta clay pots — breathable, with the weight and texture of a real little planter. Clay is heavier and more fragile than a nursery pot, so handle and pack with care when setting your tables, and expect a little natural variation in colour and finish from pot to pot.

A NOTE ON COLOR AND TRIM

Packets and tags are printed in small batches, so the exact shade varies from run to run and from the photographs on screen. Twine, ribbon and tags are bought in small lots and will vary as well. If you need more than one order for the same event, place a single order so everything comes from the same run.

Baby in Bloom Wildflowers

When to Plant
Sow after the danger of frost has passed. In warm climates, wildflowers may also be planted during the cooler fall season.

Where to Plant
Choose a sunny location with well-draining soil. Most wildflowers perform best with 6 or more hours of sunlight per day.

How to Plant
Prepare the soil by removing weeds and loosening the top layer. Scatter seeds evenly over the soil surface. Gently press the seeds into the soil so they have good soil contact. Do not bury deeply.

Watering
Keep the seeded area consistently moist while the seeds are germinating. Use a gentle spray to avoid washing the seeds away. Once established, water as needed according to local weather conditions.

Growing
Germination and bloom times will vary depending on the varieties in the mix, temperature, rainfall, and growing conditions. Allow flowers to mature and enjoy the changing mix of blooms throughout the season.

Tip: If you’re starting the seeds in the included favor pot, seedlings can be transplanted into the garden or a larger container as they grow.
