A little cauldron, about two inches tall, with a rolled rim and three stubby feet — glazed black ceramic, no handle, sized to sit on a shelf and hold one live air plant like something mid-brew.

The plant is a live Tillandsia, blushing at the tips in the colour you choose. No soil, no repotting, no drainage to think about. It rests in the cauldron's mouth and lifts straight out when it needs a soak.

What arrives

  • One glazed black ceramic cauldron planter, roughly 2" tall, handleless
  • One live air plant in your chosen colour
  • A round wooden saucer for the cauldron to stand on

Caring for your air plant

  • Bright, indirect light. Not full afternoon sun through glass.
  • Soak in room-temperature water for 20 to 30 minutes every week to ten days.
  • Afterwards turn it upside down, shake the water out of the leaf bases, and let it dry completely before it goes back in the cauldron. Water left standing in the base is the one thing that will finish an air plant off.
  • No soil, ever. Air plants take what they need through their leaves.
  • Keep it above 50°F.
  • The wooden saucer is not waterproof — soak the plant away from it and let both dry before they go back together.

Every plant is grown rather than manufactured, so colour, size and form vary a little from one to the next. The wood is natural, so grain and tone vary too.
